Hash & Checksum
After unlocking the vault, open Hash & Checksum in the left sidebar below Server Diagnostics. The tool is bundled with the application, opens in its own window, and requires no installation from the catalog.
For routine file verification use SHA-256, SHA-512 or BLAKE3. In Verify, select a file and algorithm and paste the expected hash from a trusted source. A matching hash confirms matching data; verify the publisher using a signature.
Calculate hashes
Select one file, multiple files, or a directory, optionally including subdirectories. Use the recommended SHA-256, SHA-512, and BLAKE3, choose your own selection, or run all 49 algorithms together. Directory enumeration skips symbolic links.
Verify and compare
Verify a file against an expected HEX or Base64 digest using a fixed-length algorithm. HEX ignores letter case and surrounding whitespace. Compare two files by the digests calculated with one or more algorithms.
Checksum manifests
Generate and verify GNU, BSD, and SFV manifests with relative paths. Generation requires a fixed-length algorithm without a key or seed; SFV requires CRC32. Verification can detect the algorithm automatically or use a manual selection. Paths escaping the root directory are rejected.
Output, progress, and export
Display results as lowercase or uppercase HEX or Base64. Track processed bytes, percentage, throughput, and remaining time; cancel a running job; copy individual digests or all results; and export them to a text file.
File contents and calculated digests never leave the computer. Calculation runs outside the user interface and reads files in chunks. The tool follows the saved application language (CS/DE/EN); language changes preserve selected files, parameters, and results.
